A message from Wayne LaPierre

I got this by e-mail:
Wayne LaPierre wrote:The NRA has nearly 300,000 members in Texas, yet the TSRA has fewer than 35,000. The NRA works hard to support its state affiliates, and the TSRA was recognized as the best in the nation when it was awarded the State Association of the Year Award in 2004. In Texas, NRA relies on the strength of the Texas State Rifle Association and its membership to preserve our rights that are so clearly written into our Constitution. As a Texan and as an NRA member, we encourage you to strengthen the great State of Texas and join the TSRA today!
To join the TSRA, simply go to the web site at tsra.com, and click the link that says "Join Now!" Together, we can keep the Second Amendment in Texas safe and sound.
Note that more than 250,000 Texans have a CHL, and barely 10% are TSRA members.

TSRA is the lobbying group for the RKBA in Texas. They are responsible for the progress made to date, and need our support in the future.

What, Wayne doesn't write me anymore? I didn't get that letter...

The statistics surprise me. I would expect the bigger marketing machine of the NRA to have significantly more members than the TSRA, but not by that margin. One misconception may be that the NRA funds the TSRA from NRA membership dues.

I appreciate the NRA sending out that sort of letter to help the state associations.

Since I've had it on my signature line for many months, I'll just say it there:

Both acknowledged in my Sig line too.
The TSRA really needs our local help.
If the country Baptist Preacher can squeeze out support for them anyone can.

Me too. It don't cost that much guys, and they (NRA and TSRA) are the reason you are still able to own a gun and hunt. If not for them and members you would have been disarmed long ago. :fire :fire

My sig line says it for me.

However, its not just us needing to join, we need to spread the word as well. If everyone that joined got one or two additional people to join, look what that would do to the membership numbers.

You should have received a TSRA Sportsman magazine in July. I get about six to ten pieces of mail a year from TSRA.
