I attended their 12/12/17 seminar in Plano. Very informative. Lots of "this is why you need a security plan" information, as well as lots of "this is where you start" information for churches who are wondering what their first step should be.

In short, their message is that you don't have to go immediately from nothing to a full security team like theirs, just do more this Sunday than you did last Sunday.

One of our deacons also went to the seminar. He found it very helpful. If you have chance, you should go.

I was at the Dec 5 session at Prestonwood, made me think of a few areas we are lacking and was mostly surprised a the number of churches that do not perform any or the wrong types of background checks for volunteers - especially if working with the children.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm registered for the one in Lubbock. It will be good to see what we are doing right, what we need to improve on, and what we haven't thought of yet.
