Leather holster too tight

I ordered a replica P38 holster for my shooter.
It came dry and very tight. What is the best way to "adjust" the holster so the P30 should fit as it should?

Easy wrap pistol in 2-3 Walmart plastic bags maybe more put in holster where it goes and just let it set for a few days, I have never seen this not work. Adjust amount of bags and time to your liking. Wrap them around it, NOT nicely placed inside and folded.
Same for magazine pouch.

You might take a damp sponge and lightly dampen the outside edge. Key is very lightly dampen. Replace weapon (in the aforementioned plastic bags) and allow it to thoroughly dry naturally.

This will work. I wouldn’t put anything in the leather.

If it's truly just snug, most holster makers suggest a ziplock freezer weight bag, overnight and check in the am... if still tight repeat as needed. If it's just a little snug, only do that for a couple hours. If it's really just too tight, ask the maker to adjust it.

I use 1 or 2 Ziplock freezer bags.

What has worked for me was wrapping the gun in wax paper (wax side out) inserting it in and out and leaving in overnight.

Have you thought about wrapping the gun in some plastic bags and leaving it inserted for a few days?
As others have noted this should solve your issue.

Saran Wrap is also a fun way to go!

What about vacuum sealing the gun, or is that just for when you plan to store your backup in the tank of the toilet?

I prefer an old inner tube (do they still make those?) stick something you claim never owned, steel tie the loose ends, trim to length. And act like an undertaker for 20 mins

I had a similar problem with another maker’s holster. They told me to use Saran-wrap around the gun and then stuff it into the holster. The wrapping stretched the leather, but at the same time it acted as a sort of lubricant to get the gun into the too-tight holster in the 1st place.
