I remember when this started with Chavez being elected in 1998.
Socialism being done right was the catch phrase. Largest oil reserves in the world.
I remember wishing them misfortune as I really didn't want this experiment to succeed. I feel bad about that now. "Election" coming up. What are the odds they reelect the current dictator.
He recently jailed most of the state run oil company executives. Replaced them with military generals. I'm sure that will work out.
I felt we came very close to ending our Democracy, if Hillary had been elected. I felt Chelsea would have followed Hillary.
It's Venezuela's own fault for what has happened electing Chavez. Their punishment has been far worse than I ever imagined.
I thank God every day we were spared the same fate.

Venezuela's gorgeous.
I'd live there in a heartbeat...if it wasn't a totalitarian evil...now.
I've spent time there and loved it pre-Chavez!

What are the chance they re-elect the current dictator? A better question might be, what are the odds of the current dictator winning 100% of the vote?

That’s been the catch phrase EVERY time it’s been tried since it first failed.
The evil in progressivism isn’t that it’s promoters think it is a vehicle to universal social justice.....if that were even remotely possible, it would be a worthy goal. No... the evil in progressivism is that they are perfectly OK with thousands or millions of people starving to death, as long as socialism stays in place wherever it is being “done right” because their miserable deaths are somehow made more noble by dying in the cause of socialism.
It’s the reason that socialist tyrants have always blamed outside forces for the failures of their economies. To place the blame where it belongs, they have to either blame the failures on their own ineptitudes, or blame them on the curse of socialism. Tyrants don’t survive by taking blame for failures, and socialism doesn’t survive by being
HONESTLY compared against other economic systems. Socialism is only viable when being compared to itself. It’s like the wicked witch asking the mirror, “who’s the most beautiful woman in the world?” It never gets a reliable answer, because it doesn’t allow itself to be compared to other systems in the REAL world.

According to this article, Mao’s socialist experiment resulted in the death of tens of millions:

For those that read the Wall Street Journal there have been some super interesting articles lately about the fall of Venezuela. The country with the worlds largest oil reserves is literally being destroyed from within. Even their ships laden with oil are being confiscated at different ports and being seized for debts. Only military force- guns and ammo- can keep their government going. Fortunately for us we have just passed Saudi Arabia in oil production as with the drop in oil from Venezuela without our own increases in production we could be seeing a crisis. Without a mass uprising in Venezuela or a force from outside the country moving in those people are doomed.

And some would say that Mao was a piker compared to Stalin, who killed
60 million of his own people. OTH, what’s 15 million people between fellow travelers?

What's even more amazing, is the defending sound of silence, from the MSM. They don't want to even mention Venezuela, because it just represents, a total failure, of all the policies, they extoll. Why hasn't Bernie Sanders jumped up and pointed to this, as a prime example, of his entire platform? Maybe he can point to another Socialist country that has been successful? ( crickets )

Jusme,
So, what's the actual agenda?
It sure isn't helping the poor, disadvantaged, ...?
Here's what it is: Criminals pretending to be political help mates for the disadvantaged, but terds like Burn, 'the disgusting would be criminal' if ONLY we'd elect him...
Snowflakes want his kind of criminality, because with guys like him in office, EVERYTHING is freeeeeeeeeee!
Dream on snowflake, you'll eventually be lined up before mass graves to be shot in the head or maybe not even that luxury, just buried alive you poor dumb saps...now power up the bulldozers, commies have work to do...

Just imagine where we would be if Hitlery was elected.
Then imagine what the next commie socialist dumbocrat president is going to be like, because it will eventually happen again, along with a commie socialist dumbocrat congress and SC.
Buy more ammo.

Hitlery has been mighty quiet of late or perhaps my avoidance of fake news is making me think so...
