Give me a cotton picking break!

PC police out in full force. Most have used this phrase with absolutely no racial intent. It's just a replacement for dad-gum or other phrases.

I asked my mother who had to pick cotton as a child if this was offensive to her. She said "are you kidding me?"

Thats a tough job! I picked some cotton on the farm to see how hard it was. My dad gave be a 5 gal bucket and said fill it wow, easy, I thought! :shock:

im an offensive person because i speak my mind. whether you wanna hear it or not imma say it. i used to just bite my tongue but the older i get the less i care if i offend someone.dont like me? fine. do i offend you? dont care. i wont lose any sleep over it.

Always someone offended and they get the attention they desire instead of the ridicule they deserve.

Have 13 aunts and uncles who each picked cotton in the south, none offended, they say it made them respect work/money/authority/etc.

The phrase 'cotton-picking' refers to how hard and tedious it was picking cotton. A 'cotton picking (pickin') minute' would seem way longer than a regular minute.
