I read awhile back that if you had a LTC or CHL the old Texas knife laws didn't apply to you. You could carry whatever knife you wanted... Is Oklahoma the same way? If they see I'm a Texas resident with a Texas LTC and I'm carrying a switchblade (which is illegal to carry in OK) would I be exempt as well since they recognize a Texas LTC? (If any of my info regarding knives and having a CHL is inaccurate lemme know. I know that in 2017 Texas law was change to where you can carry whatever blade you want but before 2017 I was under the understanding that if you had a LTC/CHL you were exempt from those knife laws)

The Texas law could have been interpreted that way, but it was not clear and there was no test case for it.
So far as carrying in Oklahoma goes, you need to follow Oklahoma law, even using your Texas ltc.

That's what I figured. I carry the knife all the time so I wouldn't put it past me to have it completely slip my mind. Especially since I live so close to the border.

Switchblades are legal in OK. They changed the law a couple of years ago.

Not anymore... but before Texas changed the law a few years ago, many thought that the CHL exempted them from the law prohibiting automatic knives. Like mentioned previously, that was a grey area with no test case.

So are OTF knives legal in OK now as well cause that's actually what I have. It's a double action OTF double edged knife.

Not sure on that one... I would say yes, since dirk and dagger were removed from the prohibited list, as well as automatic knives. However, if Oklahoma deems it as an "offensive weapon", then carry is prohibited. My guess is that you would be ok, unless you got into trouble and they were looking for additional charges to add on. But that legal advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
