I'm guessing the rehabilitation, portion of his sentence didn't stick with him too well. Not only that, he didn't quite grasp the concept of doing a better job of not getting caught.
Or maybe 24 hours of life on the outside was just too difficult. Not exactly how I would have spent my first full day of freedom.
