After wearing it for a couple of weeks I could not find a comfortable spot. Back to my cheapo 15.00 holster. I really like the build quality of comtac and I tried the Tucker Answer but new right away it was not the choice. So anyone have any input. I thought the Minotaur MTAC Holster, or the infidel might work. With bare skin the CTAC was sweaty and abrasive. I am trying to stay away from a dozen non usable holsters. My main carry is the XD-40 subcompac.

Kydex is not for everyone....it annoys me against bare skin. I love my Infidel, but wear leather if wearing a t-shirt under another shirt is not appropriate.

I really like the Milt Sparks Summer Special II......there are some really good copies out there that do not require such a long wait.

Maybe IWB is not the best method for you......have you thought about OWB with a bigger/longer shirt.

FWIW- I had to return a C-Tac....it did not work for me either.

I am in the Houston area.......maybe we can work something out and you can try out a few of mine to see if you like them. Plan to attend the TexasCHL forum day next month?

Sorry the C-Tac didn't work for you, it took me a while to get used to mine. I would think that the MTAC would be too similar to Tucker's Answer to offer much of a different feel for you. If I my ask, what was it about the Answer that did not work for you?.

ScubaSigGuy, i am not sure as to why the answer was not as comfy but i tried the ctac and it at the same place. The ctac just felt better and of course after wearing it several hours that changed. now my little nylon holster is fairly comfortable just not secure

It could just be in the adjustments as far as the answer is concerned. It took me a little while to figure out what cant and height worked best for me with my Answer and C-Tac. The Answer, for me, is much more comfortablke than the C-Tac.

Just asking: are you wanting to wear an IWB holster against bare skin? If so, I don't know if you'll find many options that are comfortable. Kydex is unyielding, and leather will be severely affected by sweat...and its edges are stiffer than cloth or nylon.

The CTAC became my immediate favorite the first day I tried it; that said, once they have an MTAC slide for 1911s, I'll try it. I had a quick PM exchange with a member after I posted that I liked my CTAC, and it became evident that one difference between us is that I always wear a T-shirt under an IWB holster, and I don't wear briefs (where the bottom edge of a holster can dig directly into skin on my thigh).

I don't know if this is a factor, but in my case, I can't imagine having an IWB holster against bare skin.

Well wear some drawers under there dang it.

I to found the Comp Tacs not suited to my body shape. I wanted to like them because they are quality products and the customer service is outstanding.

I may have missed it, but is there a reason why you're staying away from leather?

As jbirds said the Milt Sparks holster are really top notch. Tucker Also make many very fine all leather holsters and there are several stocking dealers here locally.

I have found I favor the Fobus paddle OWB wears well easy on and off I forget its even on me after a little while. Long T-shirt over it and I do wear under garments. Try it you'll like it!

No offense to you, but I would never recommend a Fobus. I can't tell you how many we had returned at the range after they broke.

hey guys, thanks for the replies. I did not consider the owb but after getting over the concealment paranoia's it might be an option. I really think the public is clueless as to what is under your shirt. With that said I really like the Tucker HF1, with the Texas concho. I wonder with the kimber 4in how well it would conceal. I have a baby eagle and the XD that I might sell for the Kimber. I sure like that holster, just not the wait time. I might look into the Milt Sparks.

I am not sure about wearing a undershirt, never have because I work as an electrician and its already to hot with a button up shirt. I carry concealed only in the evening but do pack a 45 in my service truck.

Tucker's HF1 is an excellent choice. I have one & carry my Kimber Pro CDP in it. Conceal great & rides at perfect hight, at least for me. Cant is just right. I have a 2nd ordered.

I am sorry to say that my expected date of arrival is January.
If you want one you need to order it. It is still worth the time.

I carry a full sized 1911 in the same holster. Id you think his wait time is lone Milt Sparks is longer. Although Milt Sparks can be had from LIghtning Arms Sports with out the wait but for a premium,

As I mentioned in my previous post. Operator's edge and Shooter's Station stock Tucker holsters. I am headed over there today. If you tell me the gun I'll see what's in stock. AS of a couple days ago I know there was an HF1 for a 1911 Not sure which size.
