Sports story now, soon to be anti gun story.
I had to correct title as it really was an assault rifle.

This is the problem with artificially creating a shortage of legal automatic firearms, one gets astronomical prices. Thanks to our federal government for this. I believe Tommy guns used to sell for $300 new. Find one now for less than $25K.

You left out the other factor paying $50.000 for this item....stupidity.
Many say he didn't say it, but if he did, he, PTB was right, a sucker IS born every minute...

Maybe not stupidity, but I’d call it ‘more money than brains.’

The reason you guys are thinking it is high is that you are not considering the rifle bag.
For real though. He made 24 million for last season. 50K is a joke to a person with 24 million dollars.

Little boys, little toys. Big boys, big toys. He can afford the big toys. If I had his money I would have the big toys too. Personally glad he likes guns.

Even the very wealthy don't like being ripped off for something that probably shouldn't have cost more than $3500 tops. Yeah, maybe a teeny, tiny bit more, but not much and maybe $3500 is too high.
Sure, he's rolling in dough, but he shouldn't be willing to be ripped off and in the process (my opinion) doesn't say good things about his money management.
Remember when Mike Tyson was rolling in dough and a jillion other celebrities who were convinced they could spend like drunken sailors into perpetuity, who're now close to if not broke.
$50,000 for something worth far, far less?
Stupid.
I'm not convinced because someone is wealthy today, but pays waaaaaaaay too much for guns, or what you, means they'll remain wealthy...

You won't touch any full auto rifle for 3500 dollars.

Please tell me where I can buy a machine gun for $3500. In this country and legal.

There are those who say, that spending more than $300 for a gun is petty stupid. I can see where an unfired virgin M16 would be worth 50K, Just because I wouldn't do it, doesn't make it 'stupid'. Although if I could get one for $3500 I would buy a dozen of them. People like pretty things. Rich people buy pretty things because they enjoy them, and they tend to be an investment. I know my guns have done better on an investment basis than any of my works of art or my automobiles. Lebron will likely go to his grave with more toys and money than most of us.

Ever heard of the black market? Waaaaaaay below retail...
You that defend the 'stupid' please continue, I remain staunch in my 'opinion'.
If $3500 is under or over, I don't care. If you pay too much for...anything because you spend willy-nily you're either stupid or lazy or both.
