Can anybody give me a good reason NOT to get my Curio and Relic license....

1. Cheap - $30.00 for 3 years
2. Forms already filled out (easy)
3. I'm CHL, Government already know's I have guns
4. Log book is easy to fill out since license is only for personal use

I can't find any reason not go go ahead and mail it in....

So... Just like the IRS... Keep your records straight and don't do anything illegal.... ATF doesn't scare me.... I have nothing to hide... We're talking me buying a few C@R guns here and there every once in a while.....

It's good for being able to mail order C&R guns without going through an FFL. Having to put people's information into the book when you sell the gun is one more step that some buyers won't want to hassle with.

Unfortunately one of the side benefits of vendors giving discounts for C&Rs is pretty much gone.

I'd read somewhere that Brownell's and Midway still do.... But that info may be out of date... My preferred LGS charges $25.00 for a FFL xfer... All I need to do is purchase 2 C&R guns within 3 years to make it profitable... Which for me is pretty easy to do....

I've pretty much whittled my current collection of "Shootin Guns" down to what I want, there's not a lot of guns out there that excite me anymore. So I've been leaning towards the older military and unusual lately.... I get as much enjoyment looking, buying, selling, accessorizing as I do actually being on the range....

Midway ditched theirs about 6 years ago. Looks like Brownells might still which I did not know. I'll need to give them a call.

I doubt that ATF inspects C&R holders unless there is reason to suspect usual buying or selling activity, or association with gangs or known criminals. I have had a C&R for 4 years, and never hear from ATF except for an email newsletter.
