Does anybody know if the slide retraction effort on the S&W M&P Shield 9mm 2.0 is lower than on the original version of the gun?

Thanks for any help.

The recoil spring hasn't changed from what I can tell.

Small carry guns can be difficult to manipulate if hand strength is an issue.

If that's the case, take a look at the S&W 380 EZ. Designed to be an easy to manipulate slide and there is some very good 380 defensive ammo these days.

+1 for the EZ. I have handled both the Shield and the EZ. The slide on the EZ is far easier to manipulate.

When shopping for a replacement for her LCR .38, by wife tried both the Shield and the Walther PPS M2. She chose the Walther because she found the slide to be easier to manipulate.
