Terrorist movie

Sometimes we visualize certain situations and try to devise ways we would deal with them in real life, as a concealed carrier. One of those imaginary scenarios is a sudden terrorist attack. I just recently watched a movie (we live 2 blocks from a theater) that made it strikingly real. The terrorist violence in "Hotel Mumbai" is so intense, even "Blackhawk Down" is tame in comparison. It was so intense, I ate my whole bag of popcorn without even realizing it. I woke up the next morning still thinking about it. Check it out.

Just caught it last night. Wow! Simply chilling. The complete disregard for the lives of the targeted "infidels", the close quarters fire power brought to bear by the Pakistani terrorists, and almost complete incompetence of the local Indian police authorities, coupled with what seemed to be a total lack of any security precautions was absolutely terrifying. I sure hope that this was a wake up call for India and that those innocent civilians did not die completely in vain. This could have been avoided, or at least mitigated. It reportedly took Indian authorities 3 full days to bring the situation under control.

Definitely a "must see". There are numerous lessons to be learned!

I watched it last night. It was a very good movie, keeping in mind that it's not a documentary, but "based on true events." The bit with the Sikh waiter and the English woman was a stilted bit of preaching, but overall a good show.

Related to that event, this is a really good accounting of the actual Mumbai attacks, centered on the Hotel itself:

Highly recommend it. Much more complete, and the action arts are every bit as gripping as the movie.
