Poor Planning: counter protest in Dallas?

Anyone know if there's any kind of counter-protest in Dallas today?
Since I have nothing better to do today, I figured I'd go down there and see what they are up to, maybe take some pictures. If anyone wants to join me for whatever reason, PM me. (Not like I'd expect anyone to want to)

... Save the Second Amendment Rally to be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, 12:00 noon CDT in Dallas, Texas. We will be gathering outside the Warren United Methodist Church at 3028 Malcolm X Boulevard, where the North Texas Brady Campaign and Rainbow PUSH members are scheduled to hold their own anti-gun rally. It's time for Democrats who support the Second Amendment to take a stand against those who seek to undermine our Constitutional rights.
I forgot my camera, so I'm glad you might go. (That's what happens when you head out to work at oh dark thirty)

Sorry, this struck me as funny. Democrats, eh?
The irony is I'll wager 99% of the Brady supporters are Democrats. 100% of Rainbow Push are democrats. Pick a side works best.

There are more voters that are democrats that support 2a than you think.
Remember: The problem isn't democrats or republicans, it's gun grabbers.
My camera died from lack of battery about 5 mins into the thing. It was pretty sorry, honestly. The Brady's took a detour to avoid the a2dems.

I saw on an Illinois forum, that 26 protesters showed up in Springfield. Not even enough for a lie in.

A couple of the folks that were supposed to meet up with us ended up marching with the anti's.
They got a nice bit of coverage from CBS 11 for their effort:
...The south Dallas march was a plea for peace and a call for more gun control.
But Karina Hollands saw the march as an opportunity to spread a different message.
"That doesn't stop murder; that doesn't stop violent crime," said Hollands. "It just means honest citizens don't have the means to protect themselves."
"There's no clear relationship between more guns and higher levels of violence," the director of the Small Arms Survey, Keith Krause said. He pointed to low ownership and high crime rates in Latin America.
He said studies have shown that gun violence often occurred in places undergoing rapid urban growth, and when lawless areas are created by extreme poverty and the absence of effective policing.

Maybe, but if you got rid of the democrats, you be getting rid of more than 90% of the gun grabbers. sounds like a win-win

Being former military, a Vietnam Combat Veteran, former law enforcement, a strong supporter of the NRA, a gun owner all my life, a Texas CHL licensee, AND a Democrat, I take strong objection to your statement.
The area that I live in is pro Democrat, and there are a ton of gun owners out here in West Texas ranch country.
Lumping people together to fit your personal stereotypes is short sighted at best.

I am not a Democrat. But I have to agree with you. There are lots of good Democrats, and sometimes they come down on the same side as my beliefs. and its as unfair to paint Democrats as liberal tofu eating gungrabbers as it is to paint Republicans as heartless child and women hating rednecks.
In the Legislative session this year, it was Republicans as well as Democrats who threw up the roadblocks on the parking lot bill.

I did not lump them all together, I said about 90% are gun grabbers. I have several friends who are democrats and support gun rights. But they make up the minority. I really am sorry if I offended you, but your party is the enemy of the NRA. I wish the Democratic party would wise up and learn about our rights as americans. If they did, I'd start considering some of their candidates.

As much as I like to rant against the Democrats...
I will say that many Democrats are pro-gun rights. Especially in Texas. The Brady Campaign once complained that two Texans running for office (one democrat the other republican) were competing with each other to prove who was the most pro-gun!
Just being a Democrat doesn't make a person an anti.
