Seems very fake to me but whatever. A cool idea atleast.
Any smiths out there know if this is even possible?
I mean, where would the links eject? the brass and link would be too big and bulky to eject out of the same area.
Plus the guy says he uses a modifiec M60 link. The M60 fires a 7.62 round so how the heck would that work?

The case body diameter of the two cartridges is actually somewhat similar, regardless of the bullet diameter. I don't have my manuals in front of me at the moment, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to modify 7.62 links to hold .45 ammo.
Assuming this thing is real, the links would probably be "ejected" out the ejection port as each round is chambered; in other words, every time the slide cycled, out would come a spent shell and the links for the next round in line.
Actually getting it to work, without extensively modifying the exterior, sounds fishy to me. So does the sight "fire-control selector." Additionally, if this guy does indeed now possess a select-fire 1911, he's in a world of legal trouble (if he's in the US). To spend the time getting this thing right, then posting it online, seems counterproductive at best and downright foolish no matter where you stand. If it's "for real," he's probably getting a visit from the ATF VERY soon...
So, while such a firearm is potentially "possible" in theory, I'm tossing my vote into the "hoax" category.

Anyone who believes this has absolutely no idea how a belt-fed firearm functions.

Hey, I called it a hoax, right? Even those of use who don't know precisely how belt-fed guns work could feel our legs being pulled on that one.
Yeah, I can picture how a couple things might work (as I said), but I can also picture how they wouldn't work. I do think that links could be modified to hold .45 ACP rounds, due to the case diameter; no idea how effective such an arrangement would be. But, I'm largely ignorant of belt-fed guns.
What made my "nonsense filter" go off was the hogwash about making such a weapon select-fire. Assuming such a weapon was possible, I don't think anyone smart enough to design it would be dumb enough to brag about it.
