The above link is a lengthy account of the 1st murder trial of American Indian chiefs, for murdering 7 teamsters in 1871.
The Indians were supposed to stay on their Oklahoma reservations, but they continued to cross the Red River into Texas and kill settlers.
Our forum friend Lena made mention of this on the "Tioga, TX" thread posted by joe817.
I found this piece, and thought it deserved its own separate thread, rather than being appended to Tioga.
