According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), 3,100 Blackhawk T-Series L2C holsters are
being recalled because the holster design can change the positioning of the safety switch, which could lead to
the gun firing if the trigger is unexpectedly pulled.
The holster was designed to be used with Sig Sauer P320/P250 civilian firearms that clip onto the user’s belt.
“2101213 A” is printed on the outside of the recalled gun holsters.
Customers should stop using the holsters and call Blackhawk at 888-334-7547 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET for a refund.

How in the world does a defect like this get past pre-production testing?
Chas.

I would think it could be considered a feature by some, if it reliably kicked off the safety.

Developers never think of all the ways a user could mis-use a product.

Not surprised... our company already banned current Blackhawk holsters, I wanted to give these new thumb models some time in the field before authorizing them. Seems that was a good move.

Hmmm, only the Sig models? Are we sure it's the holster?

Blackhawk has not done well with holsters...
I have one, (the Sportster) for my 92F Great holster love it, Folks knock the darned things but it is the only holster I feel comfortable to open carrying with. Snicking the safety off on a DA/SA isn't that big of a deal. Lots of people carry these guns with the safety off or even removed. Shucks, most guns sold these days don't even have safetys.

The Canik TP9sa I bought 4 years ago came with a "Serpa Blackhawk Style" holster. Never concerned me enough to find out if Serpa was the OEM, but it's a ringer if not. No problems with it and it's fine for the range, but the release being on the side didn't inspire any confidence. I decided to improve that situation by ordering a Safariland model 578 and glad I did. The release lever is on the rear that is very natural for the user and not in a convenient location for anyone who might consider grabbing your gun from your holster. And, the price is pretty good, IMO.
