Shot a few rounds in my Glock 26 then went back to the house for the usual cleaning.

I noticed that some Ballistol in one of my needle-oilers had congealed into yellowish paste at the bottom of the container.
Never seen that before! I stirred it and it was like a thick paste! The liquid consistency was gone.

This is an unheated garage attached to the house but the temps even when cold usually get down to only the upper forties/low fifties in there.

Never had that happen with Breakfree CLP which has always maintained its consistency in whatever container I put it in.

Anybody had anything similar happen with the Ballistol they stored?

If you are using a trigger sprayer attached to the non-aerosol Ballistol can,
remove after use and return the original cap. Ballistol can leak from the trigger sprayer,
and will be exposed to air. Ballistol has an indefinite shelf-life when the original cap i
s returned to the can. Ballistol will not "mist" out of the trigger sprayer, but will instead
shoot a "stream". For a mist application, please use our aerosol version.

It sounds like your Ballistol, stored in an oiler, rather than a can with an air tight cap
probably oxidized and got thick and gummy.

This is me. Mine is stored inside my cleaning kit inside the house. I usually by three aerosol cans at a time and have never ever had an issue.

I have never had a problem with Ballistol in the aerosol cans either.

I wonder if I applied Ballistol in a needle-oiler to the hammer and trigger pins of my AR15 if that would cause them to gum up over time?
I don't think I will try that experiment. I can reach those components using Ballistol's aerosol can with straw attached or use my needle-oilers
filled with Mobil1 or Hoppe's Gun Oil.

Lucas Gun Oil comes from the manufacturer in a needle-oiler and it is also a really great product.

What do you guys use to lubricate the hammer and trigger pins on your AR15s?
