I am looking at buying a CZ Witness 45. i would like to know what everyone thaught about that specific gun

I had one of these and sold it to a friend of mine. That means I still shoot it from time to time. I liked it very much. It feels like a substantial piece of metal since it's so heavy. Not the best choice for concealed carry because of the weight, but it is small enough to conceal. I used to carry it around in a small day planner.

The only reason I sold it was because I needed some extra money at the time. I would buy another one if the right opportunity came along.

Witness and CZ are two different manufacturers. CZ being the original designer. Witness being a "clone" made by Tanfoglio in Italy.

CZ makes one 45 acp, the CZ 97B, a full size steel gun.

Witness are available in steel or poly and either full size or compact in 45 acp.

I have a Witness steel compact 45 acp. It's well made, it's heavy and it shoots well. The SA trigger pull is nice and smooth. The DA triger pull is terrible.

I'm satisfied that my money was well spent on a Witness 45 acp.

Thanx for the info. The person at the range said it was a CZ Witness. I have no idea. Thats why i was asking.

I had a chance to fire a full magazine out of the full size steel CZ .45. I have no idea of the actual weight, but it felt heavy, which made recoil quite mild. The owner had his target out at about 10 yards, and except for one flyer (oops ) the rest of the rounds chewed out one ragged hole, though it was a couple of inches low and left of the bullseye.

I used to have an EAA (European American Armory, Tanfoglio's US importer) Witness compact in .40 with an interchangeable barrel/slide assembly in 9mm. It was a sweet gun. The grip felt like they made it from a mold of my hand. I only got rid of it because it was a little too heavy for carry, and I couldn't afford another gun without selling something at the time.

If you buy a Witness in .45 or 10mm, you can buy slide assemblies in the other caliber as well as 9mm and .40 for multiple calibers in one firearm. If you start with a 9mm or .40, you are limited to switching out between those two calibers only.

As already stated, the Witness, like the Baby Eagle line of pistols, is a clone of the CZ pistols. They're all built like tanks and usually shoot rather well. Their DA triggers are usually their Achille's heel, but they are capable of safely being carried cocked and locked.
