IWB holsters and sweat - any suggestions?

I love my Clinger Stingray IWB holster, and it's my standard for EDC with my Walther P99. It's featherweight, tough, hugs closely, and didn't cost much. I normally wear it at about 2:30 - 3:00. The only problem is that it doesn't have anything between the grip and my body. On a hot summer San Antonio day I sometimes take the gun off and the grip is DRIPPING with sweat - enough to interfere with a secure grab-and-grip.

Soooooooooooooo, as much as I hate to, I'm looking around for another IWB holster. I do NOT want some big, bulky, fancy, expensive handmade hand-tooled leather job, or being OWB or tuckable, just something similar to what I have, but that protects it better from perspiration. Any suggestions?

Check out N8 squared tactical. They offer holsters close to what you are describing.

I’ve yet to find anything that protects the gun from perspiration, but I have found some that mitigate it more than others. My favorite is the Stealthgear Ventcore, the material is breathable such that you don’t get as much built up heat like you do with a leather holster. Hopefully resulting in less sweat. It’s all relative though.

This is as good as I’ve found; but yes, Texas summers and IWB carry are tough.

I'm about ready to shift back to OWB. Problem solved.

Get one with leather on the back and make sure it’s Horsehide
It will block sweat from passing through the leather

I have a Crossbreed (10 year old or so) that is IWB and worked great

:iagree: That's the only way I've carried since day 1.

A quality undershirt solves a multitude is issues... and they can actually be cooler than just the over shirt. :tiphat:

I carry approx 98% IWB, I have never OC'd.
I believe that a good fitting, quality, compression undershirt actually helps me FEEL cooler. YMMV
Probably all in my head but, mind set is very important. It does seem to control the excess
skin that appears more & more often  the older I get & the more weight I lose. Just saying.

Yep, I’ve been wearing the sports type shirts as undershirts since I started carrying. You can get the expensive Underarmor or Target, Walmart and academy have theirs. They are a synthetic material and dry faster than cotton. It also takes some of the abrasiveness off your skin from the holster. N82 holsters are comfortable IWB but I’ve been carrying OWB for years now.
