Help identifying a Glock

Looking for some help identifying a Glock that I came into...
This is a Frankenglock.... (I THINK)
Seriel numbers on both the frame and slide match.. SAYxxx. It was upgraded with a 9mm threaded barrel and night sites.... The frame was stippled (very amateurishly done).
Problem is that the guy I got it from said that it was an older generation G17, and it was upgraded with a 9mm threaded barrel and heavier G22 slide.
So can you just put a 9mm barrel in a G22 also since both the slide and frame have matching seriel numbers is it really a G22 and not a G17..

I'd say it's a G22 with a 9mm barrel. I read that you can use magazines from a G17.

That's how I'm leaning as well. The barrel is a lone wolf 9-40 which after looking up is a 40 to 9mm conversion barrel... The magazine is a standard 9mm 17 round Glock mag...
I traded a 12 year old table saw, bench grinder, table top drum sander and some misc. woodturning tools for the Glock and around 800 rounds of 9mm. 100 of those are Hornady Critical defense rounds... I sold off my woodworking business a few years back and these were just some leftover tools that honestly was just taking up room in my garage.... The guy that traded for them was just getting into woodworking and didn't want to spend a lot on a bunch of new power tools.... So to me we both traded well.

AGREE. Funny part is that I think I was more excited about the ammunition

Actually I’m not a Glock fan, but I needed a “loaner” for students and everyone wants to shoot a Glock. I’m very much into all metal, hammer fired semiautomatics like CZ and beretta and didn’t have a single striker fired polymer in my collection believe it or not.

Nice trade indeed! And I agree that it is a G22 with a 9mm conversion barrel. I wonder if that .40 extractor will work reliably with 9mm? Either way it’s a great trade

I’m glad you mentioned that. There are a few YouTube videos about that and they all said no problems at all. Guy that I got it from also said no issues. I’ll find out I’m a few days when I hit the range.

Nice! Maybe heavier 9mm will be slower and closer to .40?

Not a bad idea. I’ve got 147, 124 and 115g so worth trying. I’ve never had a threaded barrel before so I’m sorta eyeing a compensator.

I’m glad you mentioned that. There are a few YouTube videos about that and they all said no problems at all. Guy that I got it from also said no issues. I’ll find out I’m a few days when I hit the range.
I had a .40 S&W Glock 27 once & bought a 9mm conversion extractor & ejector & barrel to swap out & make it into a Glock 26. then traded it all for a Glock 26 to someone wanting a 27 & conversion stuff for cheaper 9mm practice. ammo
Put some range time in with it, check extractor and the ejector some might kick brass into the face after using conversion barrels.
