I was working with a friend to set up some test loads for my new Bergara B14 HMR. We started with published load data on a few different powders. Looking at the cases after firing, I’m wondering if there’s a problem.
The bulets were Hornady 129gr SST. This case was loaded with 35gr and 35.5gr of Varget with a CCI 450 primer. 35 grains is the published starting point for Varget.
OAL were all within published specs.

Looks like the ejector might be taking a swipe out of the brass, possibly when you're closing the bolt. Is this doing it on commercial ammo?
You might try chambering a round and then ejecting the round without firing it to confirm when this is happening (if you haven't already).

There is defect in the bolt head. It needs to be corrected. This is not what you see as pressure sign.

I wondered if it might be something with the bolt, but I’m not seeing the same thing on commercial loads.

Can you try new brass with your reloads?

I’ll try to get some loaded up this weekend.
