Re: Winchester Ranger T Ammo?
I carry the Ranger T in both my Sig 40 cal and 45 ACP. Actually I carry ranger in my .357 and 9mm also. SGammo.com and ammunition to go has Ranger in various types. I have some old "Black Talon" that I've had for years, and the Ranger T appears to be the same stuff without the black coating.

Re: What do you think?
Depending upon which size P250, it can be pretty hard to find a holster. I have the subcompact .40 cal and it doesn't have a rail, also the trigger guard is rounded instead of flat like the others. I found that it fits in several holsters that I have for my Glock 19/26, with a bit of stretch around ...

Re: Are you cc now?
I was asked once in Cabela's while the guy was checking his paperwork and looking at my CHL, but he had seen me there several times, and it was just part of the friendly conversation (not a challenge). Something like "what do you usually carry" and I recall saying it really depended on my wardrobe ...

Re: Coming back to practice/training after absence...
Having dropped out a couple of times after I retired from the military (no chance to get to a range), after an 8-10 year absence I just cleaned my 1911, took a couple of boxes of ammo and fired away. It all comes back very quickly (then again I had carried/fired the thing for 25 years).
I'd ...

Re: Forgive me, JMB for I have sinned
I know how you feel. After shooting 1911's for 50 years, I finally decided to try a Glock 26 (easier to conceal for me). I immediately fell in love with it, and went out and got a Glock 19 too. Needless to say, I'm no longer "disrespecting" Glocks.

Re: Does anyone esle go out naked in the rain?
Well, for one thing mine is normally very well concealed under a shirt or jacket, so I don't normally get all that wet. I usually carry a Glock, so it's something I've never really worried about, although sometimes I carry an SP101 or a nickel Chief Special. I guess if they got wet, I'd just have to ...

Re: CHL Holders: What do you carry? How do you conceal?
I have a number of carry guns (see my sig below), but most often my Glock 26 in a Galco SkyOps holster - which is virtually invisible. I like the tuckable holsters that can't really be seen, so I have a few Desantis Sof-Tucks for some of my pistols (Colt, Ch Spec, SP101 and Glock) I also have a ...

Re: 1st GLOCK Range report
Having spent 25 years in the Army with a 1911, I used to be totally against Glocks - until I finally bought a Glock 26 (gen 4). I love it, and mine is VERY accurate even when compared to my Gold Cup.
I liked it so much, I also purchased a Glock 19 (gen 3). I have fired just about every type of ammo ...

Re: How long to "receive materials"?
I also mailed mine on a Monday, and USPS says they delivered it on Wednesday. The page was not updated until the NEXT thursday, about 10 days. They obviously have a big stack from the mailroom every day (I heard that they only have 3 people working in CHL, but I'm not sure about this).

Re: renewing online status not changing
I took the class on a Saturday, mailed in my paperwork on Monday certified mail. According to the USPS it arrived on Wednesday, but my first status update didn't appear until the following Thursday. That seems about typical in retrospect, but it still drove me crazy waiting.

Re: online status not changing
I was worrying about mine taking so long, but I looked back at a number of earlier posts, and it seems to take about 8 - 10 days between when they recieve it from the USPS until it shows up on their web page.
You'll no doubt see it show up very soon.

Re: Notarized? Huh?
I did the online application same as you. My understanding is that there are some affidavits in the paper application that need to be notarized, but this is not required with an online app (unless there are special circumstances). If you look on the Texas CHL website at "downloadable forms" you'll ...

Re: Fees for CHL classes TOO expensive!
I'm not a CHL instructor, nor am I self employed - but I'll answer based on what I used as criteria when I scheduled my class. Most of the classes seemed to charge about $80 - $150 for the class. Cabelas has a class for only $50, but they don't have a pistol range. One other class close by charged ...

6 days from "mailed" till it arrived in the mail. It showed mailed on the 16th, but postmarked the 18th and arrived the 21st.
