How long to "receive materials"?

Post by Ruark »

I mailed the app in first thing Monday morning. Now it's Friday afternoon and the status web site says they're still "waiting on the receipt of required materials." How long does it normally take for that to change? I'll feel 100% better when I know for sure that they've received it.

I received a confirmation from USPS that they received it the Wed (sent it out Mon, same week Wed) but website didn't update till the next week on Wed/Thurs. Be patient, if it hasn't updated in a 8-10 business days, email/call them.

I also mailed mine on a Monday, and USPS says they delivered it on Wednesday. The page was not updated until the NEXT thursday, about 10 days. They obviously have a big stack from the mailroom every day (I heard that they only have 3 people working in CHL, but I'm not sure about this).

Similar timeframe here....It took about a week an a half between the date DPS received (per delivery confirmation), and when my profile was updated to indicate that materials had been received. By the time DPS gave me the form reply to my inquiry (which is their "buzz off until we have had 60 days to review" letter), the website was updated. No idea why it takes that long, but it seems to be the norm....

7 days! Mailed in the stuff last Monday, today (Monday) the DPS site was updated to show everything's received and the background is under review. Not bad. Gonna be watching it like a hawk.... :coolgleamA:

11/21 - applied online
11/23 - fingerprints done at L-1 site
12/3 - CHL class
12/5 - mailed in packet
12/12 - DPS website shows everything received, background check under review

Goodness, it took 30 days to show the first update on mine. Hope your experience is much more like the previous poster's.
