Re: Just south of Van Horn... lock or no lock cabin..

Too bad booby traps are illegal. . . I'd vote for a door that closes, locks, and calls the sheriff after they enter.

I'd be afraid that too much reinforcement of the door will cost you a skylight.

The skylight is 12' up near the peak of the roof.. you'd need a ladder or someone to lift you.. but ...

Re: Just south of Van Horn... lock or no lock cabin..

I understand the if they 'want in' theory.. I just want prevention by stragglers whom would say no worth the effort..

There is nothing showing.. would a note saying EMPTY and NO HAY AGUA in spanish/english be better??

Re: Just south of Van Horn... lock or no lock cabin..

UPDATE..

I found these.. they have a 2 1/2" BOLT length to go thru the door frame directly and into the 2x4 framing (not using the metal thing)..

Do you think 2 of these (with padlocks).. 1 top (going up into header) and 1 bottom (into floor) in addition to deadbolt and locking knob would deter ...

Re: Ship my rifle to myself.??

I've shipped rifles in doubled boxes with 0 issues over the years.. PSA shippes rifles in plain boxes as well.

I'll be breaking it down and getting into a smaller SQ box so its not so obvious.. ;-)

$23 and $23 isn't that bad (and less than a good hard case..) and I have issues with the ELP ...

Re: Ship my rifle to myself.??

I don't think you are correct..

(B9) May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity?

Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful ...

Re: Whats you AR camouflage color? post a pic.

Some Aervoe Paint.. 4 colors and some OD under it.. pine needles and mesh.. etc..

The Field Drab brown is even.. the flash messed it up and made it look dark in spots..

Ship my rifle to myself.??

I am traveling to TX in about 3 weeks and don't want to check it with the TSA/Airline.. (and I don't have a hardcase)

Whats the concensus of shipping my small AR to myself (with insurance) via UPS ground for the week?? (for $23)

I'd also be shipping 100 rounds of ammo via UPS Ground (with proper ...

Re: Just south of Van Horn... lock or no lock cabin..

So getting a steel door with no window panels won't matter?? even with a drop bolt and dead bolt if I reinforce the edges with metal??

I am 10 miles up a county road from the RioGrande.. but again it appears to have no traffic..

I'm about 17 miles South of Van Horn... not near I-10 at all...

I'm putting up a cabin 12 x 24 off of US90 and wanted to know if theres any KNOWN issues out that way with people crossing the Rio. Going out for 1 week mid-April for the build.. then back to PA for 4 months or so.. before coming back out again..

Second issue the cabin is a basic shell and will ...
