I need to renew my license and im unclear as to what the requirement is. Looking at this statement it appears that i don't even need to take the classroom portion, and all i need is to send in a pistol training/score card? Is that correct, or does it only waive the range time?

I checked my status today and was stoked to read "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". It's been 8 months since i first turned in the application and 5 months since the last problem was fixed.

I turned in my application the beginning of Feb. 1 month late i get a letter saying they need my LES, ok no problem get that fixed. June rolls around and they need side profile pictures b/c i am 20. OK, why didn't they just tell me that when they asked for my LES. O well, send the pictures off ...

Rather than mail them, scan the documents they asked for and email them to Simone at CHL@txdps.state.tx.us
I did this when they requested some additional paperwork and it definitely sped up the turn around time. I emailed the documents and had the plastic 9 days later.

When mailing off you packet make sure you include a copy of your orders or a copy of your LES statement. When I took my class I was told to just include a copy of my military ID. They just kicked back my application with a letter saying I needed a copy of either of those 2 or a few other options ...
