Re: Many Foreign Tourists -- and Most Foreign Students -- Are Barred from Going to Shooting Ranges

If you are range shooting for a "sporting purpose", then that seems to be a clearly defined exemption to the law.

Just my opinion.

Re: Texas-Made Suppressors Exempt From NFA Regulations HB 957

The problem as I see it is that the fed has previously ruled that not participating in interstate commerce affects interstate commerce and therefore can be regulated accordingly under that clause. I know you are just restating what the Court ruled back in the day, but that's some of the worst twist...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

Also, Governor signed HB 957 the Suppressor Freedom act. Now we just have to wait for the court case to settle it! I really do like that legal method of challenging Wickard V Filburn. It keeps a citizen from bearing the legal brunt and cost of such a challenge. Doing it that way, the state of Texas...

Re: New Suppressor Law = No Good

I contacted a suppressor manufacturer. They said the new Texas law changes nothing because FFL's and SOT's still have to follow federal law. So, I suppose you could legally make your own suppressor, but you're not going to get around the ATF form or the $200 by going to the store and buying a suppr...

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray

I'm not sure I agree with your analysis. I think the whole house of cards fell because a couple of officers were seriously wounded during the execution of the search warrant. That led to the discovery that the warrant was obtained because one of the officers perjured himself. If none of the officer...

Re: The war with Iran

In this day and age I think its pretty common for certain groups to use others as human shields. Examples would be Hezbollah or the Ukrainians storing explosives in populated areas. Other examples closer to home are the ATF and FBI putting their offices inside the upper levels of buildings occupied...

Re: Online comments now open: Definition of Frame or Receiver and Identification of Firearms

I am unsure what they are saying about gunsmiths. When you walk in the door to a gunsmith with a firearm, does he have to put it in his book? Even if he doesn't keep it overnight? Do you have to fill out a 4473 to take it back? The subjects of these regulations range from: 'ghost guns' AR15's and G...

Rules don't prohibit a frozen IcePlate Curve being set inside the back armor....

Might have to run one for a while to see if its worth it.

Re: power recovery costs from snowmeggdon

I'm sorry but if a quasi-government board sets a price, with no consumer options for other purchasing sources- THATS NOT A FREE MARKET. Texans need to stick to their guns and refuse to pay. The legislature OR governor could fix it. Abbotts been pretty handy with the dictatorial executive orders, may...

Re: Are you prepared for this?

Never let them get that close. If I'm in a drive thru, I'm leaving before the get within 2 feet of my window.

If I'm trapped (by a one-lane drive thru) then my gun is out before they hit the window.

Re: The Tactical Games coming to Texas

More on the Triple C 3rd Saturday Skirmish events ... I noticed that too about the pistol red dot/RMR rule. The have a lot of very sensible rules and that one stands out as bit of an odd rule. Shouldn't affect me as I don't have any RMR pistols (yet). Just replying to this to add that the rules hav...
