Tired of Cornyn?

Post by Grayling813 »

Ken Paxton is campaigning to unseat John "Gun Grabber" Cornyn. I am definitely a supporter of Paxton (or any other Republican running against this sleazebag).

I wished you would tell us what your real feeling are. It isn’t good to suppress them. :smilelol5:

The real problem with Cornyn isn't Cornyn. It is complacent Republican voters who go to the polls and check off anyone with an "R" behind their name. Those same voters don't have any idea what the "R" candidates did the last time they were elected and so in the primary elections, they just vote for the familiar names. Cornyn has a lot of similar people in the Texas House.

We don't need term limits. We need voters who pay attention. If they did, Cornyn would have been retired after the Obamacare vote.

I've done my part in trying to primary him. When it comes to the general, I must vote party.

I've tried to vote against him in primary every time.

The party itself needs to censure and grow up.

Here is another part of the problem
https://www.newsmax.com/politics/senate ... d/1217997/

The PAC is dedicating some money to Cornyn. I don't see self-censure as an option. IT takes a groundswell of angry voters to flip a Senate seat. Given Cornyn's lack-luster performance. that flip could be to Alread.

As much as I want Cornyn gone, Paxton comes with his own baggage, rightly or wrongly...
I'll vote ABC (anyone buy Cornyn) in the primary but seems we should be able to do better than Paxton.

I expect Paxton will be more vulnerable on election day vs whatever Dem gets their nomination.

Senator Angela Paxton has announced she is filing for divorce from her husband AG Ken Paxton. He then posted several minutes later. Not sure what impact this will have on his candidacy for US Senate. But this is the kind of baggage voters don't need. I hate this for both of them.

Which is worse, "person" who is a democrat and wears it or Cornyn who is a democrat but denies it? I truly want to see a much better republican in the seat but if the general election gets here and the choice is the two democrats which is the worse choice?

Exactly. May as well vote for the Democrat who you know is a communist looking to take away your liberty as a poser claiming to be a Repuke.

A couple of things:

This is a self inflicted wound by AG Paxton. It makes me wish there was another Republican alternative to Cornyn that would not struggle in the primary or the general. Paxton has done a lot of very good things as AG and he would be a far superior upgrade to Cornyn and probably the only Republican challenger that could unseat Cornyn. I don't think the divorce will stop him from being the Republican nominee. The Democrat nominee will either be Colin Allred or Jasmine Crockett. As stated in previous post above, I'm too am anyone but Cornyn in the Primary, but we cannot have any Democrat, especially those two far left progressives, as a US Senator representing Texas.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee jumped on the news yesterday attacking Paxton in an obvious bid to help Cornyn.

Ken Paxton announced today his last quarter fundraising numbers:

NEW: We raised $2.9 million last quarter in a historic fundraising haul for a GOP Senate primary challenge.
The movement to fire John Cornyn has never been stronger, and it's just the beginning.
