Re: Is the word "hero" used to freely?

I agree with the much of what has been shared. For me, doing a job you chose does not make a hero. It makes you brave, respected, honored, but not hero. It is the job chosen. When choice (whether life threatening or possibly life changing for your or someone else) is thrust upon you, how do you ...

Re: OWB for colder weather

I've tried several IWB holsters and the only one that is comfortable for be is a Crossbreed. But even then, I always wear an old man style undershirt when IWB. It keeps the holster from touching any skin and I truly don't feel it at all. Now granted, that's with a small gun...

The only holsters I ...

Re: Location of signs at movie theater

Some places seem to believe that "close enough is good enough" regarding their requirements to prevent carrying.

I wonder how many places post to appease the gun fearing people, or insurance companies, or, or... but really don't care if you carry? My work is posted with only a gun buster sign ...

Did Bass Hall still have a 51% sign up?

Last fall I went to a play at Bass Hall. I had read about the 51% signs, etc, so I disarmed. When I got there I didn't see anything, and asked the guy checking inside bags about it. He said CC is OK, but he would have had the APD check my license prior to ...
Id bet on review we will find the shooter did not do it with malice, just ignored common sense and basic firearm handling rules,,as he is too "professional" to have an ND...well other then this time I mean.
I'd bet we also find out it was loaded. :headscratch ;-)

I don't have specific info for that area, but I know many leases address it for residents. Guests, I'm not sure.

Re: The Bigotry of gun controllers

My brother in law has a CA ccw. Same thing, simple paper with laminate (since they are done by the county maybe each is different?). Plus, he can only carry the exact gun he applied with, max 3 on the permit if I remember correctly. Not just the same model, but the same serial number... The problem ...

:iagree:

If one brand has more issues of people pulling the trigger, maybe it says more about who buys that brand than the brand itself?

Re: Transfers from California

I can promise, you that California, authorities, don't have, a self alerting database, that will tell them that a gun owner has passed away. Any surviving relatives, are not responsible for their safe keeping, since they are not part of any registration. ...

Now Buffalo tried something like that ...

Guess no one taught them gun safety, or if they did then not well enough.
I would bet that they knew better. Kids don't always behave to the standards they are taught. They call it growing up.

Re: Should I? Or shouldn't I

Sounds like the manufacturer fixed it as far as you can tell?

Take it to a gun smith and have them look it over?
Sell it and tell the buyer the story you just put here, then it is with full disclosure?

Personally I don't trust safeties anyway, so I would not hesitate to use it. A hammer or firing ...

Re: Put one in the chamber, or don't carry it!

After reading some of the comments, and the title again, I think I get the point, but I don't agree with the all or none statement. I think the point is if you are not comfortable carrying in ready condition, maybe you are not practiced or confident enough to carry at all? And it is less about ...
