Maybe they figure they have the most to lose?

Re: Iran nuke deal protests - NYC
i watched over 5 hrs of testimony this morning streaming from the senate foreign relations committee ..and they still werent done.
http://www.foreign.senate.gov/hearings/072315" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am more concerned now, not about a real NUKE in the next few years,
but a dirty bomb or an EMP burst as a serious issue.
lots of money to be had by businesses in irans oil markets and other services
high speed internet, etc
Kerry, surprisingly was at times questioning his own work in regards to how Iran would act in later years
but it looks like if they do violate the deal, the US or one of the 5 others can petition the UN to put back in place the sanctions, but we all know how that has gone in the past.
and the US can of course put back our sanctions at a moments notice..which will be to late
the 21 day time period after iran is notified about a site to be looked at, is an eternity in regards to moving enriched material. sure the evidence will be there...but it really doesn't matter at that point. if the gear is dismantled....the produced material is still missing.
just like iraq dumping chemical weapons .

Will the evidence really still be there? What's to stop them from lining their walls with something to absorb any stray radiation, and using the 24 days to remove that lining?powerboatr wrote:the 21 day time period after iran is notified about a site to be looked at, is an eternity in regards to moving enriched material. sure the evidence will be there...but it really doesn't matter at that point. if the gear is dismantled....the produced material is still missing.

NOTHING. but that very structure would dictate it was thereDave2 wrote:Will the evidence really still be there? it doesn't just go away, the equipment alone to enrich it it just to cumbersome and precise to knock down..evidence would be there.
the big thing is what happens to the enriched material, that gets removed. and how much do they already have thats enriched enough to be useful in a high yield weapon.
but all this would be presumed watched by satellite......last i looked.underground facilities just dont show up on sat photos, even IR ones
he used words like "the full monty" and "snapback" way to much
sad fact is iran is a thug, and they should be treated as such. its just a matter of less time before the world really knows how bad. maybe the deal will help , maybe not
time will tell and congress is neutered to do anything about the deal, good or bad.

Tragic....but...the only way to deal with Iran when (not if) they get a nuclear weapon and an ICBM is the old MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) policy we used on the Soviets, and probably still use on the Chinese. Of course the Soviets and Chinese were/are fairly reasonable people who had/have a lot to lose. Iran? A long, lazy nuclear afternoon would only send them where they want to go.
And all that depends if the current occupant of the White House hasn't ordered all the MIRV's dismantled!

The U.S. Would not be their first target. Israel understands their very survival is in the balance. Do not expect them to sit and wait to die.ShootDontTalk wrote:Tragic....but...the only way to deal with Iran when (not if) they get a nuclear weapon and an ICBM is the old MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) policy we used on the Soviets, and probably still use on the Chinese. Understood, but the old saying was, "If one shoots a nuke, expect lots of others to join in". That used to be true and I'm afraid it might still be. It's about crossing the line into the world of real weapons of mass destruction. No one can guarantee they won't be the next target once the shooting starts.

I'd be willing to bet Israel strikes before they have a nuke.ShootDontTalk wrote:Understood, but the old saying was, "If one shoots a nuke, expect lots of others to join in". There is a very good book out there on EMP's and worth a read. The Name is "One Second After", it was recommended to me to read and I really enjoyed it.

An EMP event would be a catastrophe for any nation today. What is not so well understood is that an EMP device is a nuclear weapon. When people start shooting nuclear weapons for EMP effects, they open the door to full scale nuclear retaliation.Salty1 wrote:There is a very good book out there on EMP's and worth a read. Remember the old adage, "he who shoots first better make sure there can be no shooting back."
Ballistic missile submarines are extraordinarily difficult to detect and virtually impossible to stop from launching. Ohio boats carry 24 missiles with up to 12 MIRV's (W76) on each one - 288 warheads, each more powerful than Hiroshima by a good margin, far more accurate, and with a range of more than 7,000 miles. We have 15 such boats (SSBN) configured for ICBM's and 3 boats (SSGN) converted to carry 157 nuclear or conventional cruise missiles each as well as other specialized weapons.
Shooting an EMP invites extermination as a nation.
