NFA trust attorney recommendations - hill country?

Post by johncanfield »

Apologies if this isn't the correct place for this topic. I want to set up an NFA trust, does anybody have any recommendations for an attorney in the Kerrville-Fredericksburg-Boerne area (I hate driving to San Antonio :???: ) that specializes in this area? I know there's an Austin attorney that advertises doing it basically on-line for 300 bucks which sounds okay to me, but I suspect that's a little on the high side of a fee.

Silencer Shop has theirs going for $129.95. If I was doing one again, this is the route I'd go. YMMV.

The $129 trust is basically an on-line form with no attorney involvement (which might be good enough.) Thanks!

James Willi in Austin is who I used, he was more expensive than the other prices listed, But I had no issues with him. I never had to actually go see him, he did everything via e-mail, including reviewing the final documents.

Christopher Bass At (214) 596-8314 he did mine though the mail. I'm 3 months in on my wait.

I'll probably go with 199trust.com when I set mine up later this year.

I've heard a lot of good things about Bass and Sean Cody too ...

Sean Cody really needs to proofread his website (particularly the FAQ section). Whomever set it up for him didn't do a good job of that; some of the inconsistencies, typos, and misc. errors don't particularly represent him well considering his profession :smilelol5:

James Willi in Austin was great. We talked over the phone and ironed out the details and he emailed me the trust with detailed instructions on how to use the trust and multiple forms for different situations. He's also available to talk to later if you have ?'s. He guarantees the trust also.

I have seen friends trusts and I thought they looked very boiler plate and some had no way to allow for three way contributions to the trust. I'd recommend James Willi to anyone looking for a NFA Trust.

Used Dean Phillips at http://nfalawyers.com/, $99 and you have the trust in 24 hours. Unlike a lot of the online forms Dean and his law office will answer all your question including any special situations you may have. Additionally, his service after the fact has been awesome. Know a good number of folks that have used him and all have been very happy, as have my best friend and I.

I'm 3 months in on my wait for the tax stamp for my suppressor. I got the trust in about 9 days
