Appendix carry holster for Glock 19

Post by Cjwglock19 »

Considering this style of carry after a discussion with a friend. What's a good holster that won't break the bank to try this carry method?

Don't buy a cheap holster, you'll regret it.

I like Hillsman Holsters, but they're a bit over a 100 bucks a holster.

They're also very high quality.

They're custom holsters for my G19 and make of Boltaron.

Look em up on the internet.

PHLster Skeleton

100 times, PHLster Skeleton.

They make an awesome G19 appendix holster. No bulk, just what you need to hold the holster in place.
Keep calm and carry.

http://dalefrickeholsters.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; makes good ones. I have carried my G19 in the Archangel AIWB, and many of my G19-toting friends do as well. I don't know if $95 breaks your bank, but it is a solid full coverage holster. Now that I think about it, my Archangel is the G17 model, but I found I could carry my G19 in it as well.

However, currently I used the Raven Concealment Systems Van Guard 2, with the belt loop. I really like it. $34.99. http://raven-concealment-systems1.mybig ... er-system/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am partial to my G Code holster. They have a few different models now, but I got the 2 clip model. Get the extra suede like coating. It makes it a bit easier to carry. I carry a full size M&P9 with no issue with this holster.

Bianchi 6D IWB.
Good: thin, simple, secure, not expensive.
Bad: Dye can bleed if you sweat.

Thanks for the input and hope for more. By "break the bank" I didn't mean cheap, but I would rather not spend $90 on a test drive. I've seen some under $40, that is where I'd rather stay. I definitely believe in and try to have the best equipment I can.

I carry aiwb almost exclusively and use a CCC Shaggy

Lots of good reviews on the JM Custome aiwb too
http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/AIWB.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Both are within your budget and more importantly, both are purpose built for aiwb

I haven't been skinny enough for appendix carry since first getting my CHL. But if I were, I think I would prefer a single-stack pistol in that role. I have a G19, and it carries fairly well (I'm strictly an OWB guy), but there's no way it would work for me in appendix carry.

ive been planning to order a jm kydez appendix holster, you can add a wedge option that angles the grip back some.

Rich, over at CCC, has added several features to the shaggy. Belt clip, loops, a tuckable belt attach, and an offset adapter that helps pull in the butt.

The JM is getting great reviews over on pistol forum. Lots of aiwb shooters over there.

We were discussing appendix carry at our CHL breakfast this morning. When I'm not pocket carrying my PM40 I carry IWB with a Hoffman holster "appendix" carry except I just remembered I no longer have an appendix. :lol:

I'm not a pitchman - it makes no difference to me which route you go but I'll share with you what I use.

I have (and really really like) Katana from Appalachian Conealment. He's a one-man kydex shop who has put extensive thought and testing into his AWIB-specific designs. I really like the loop attachment vs. a clip because the loop allows for a good amount of movement while staying secure to the belt. Downside to the loop is that its not tuckable but I only tuck on Sundays. Quality is top notch and I think his rigs go for around $65.
