Lawyer seeks trial by combat to resolve lawsuit

Post by The Annoyed Man »

In a real-life case of "File that Motion, Whup that Butt", a Staten Island attorney is asking a judge for redress by mortal combat against his accuser.

Real-life Game of Thrones: Lawyer seeks trial by combat to resolve lawsuit

A Staten Island lawyer with a penchant for bowties and closely-cut beards is apparently channeling his inner "Games of Thrones" by asking a judge to sanction a trial by combat to resolve a civil suit in which he's accused of helping a client commit fraud.

"The allegations made by plaintiffs, aided and abetted by their counsel, border upon the criminal," Richard A. Luthmann wrote in a brief recently filed in state Supreme Court, St. George. "As such, the undersigned (Luthmann) respectfully requests that the court permit the undersigned to dispatch plaintiffs and their counsel to the Divine Providence of the Maker for Him to exact His divine judgment once the undersigned has released the souls of the plaintiffs and their counsel from their corporeal bodies, personally and or by way of a champion."
I couldn't have made it up any better than that.

My Dad had a big schnoz.

He used to say he had only to take one big breath in the morning and he was good for the day.

As put by Shakespeare, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."

This would at least be a start.

Mr. Lawyer if Mortal Combat was legal, you would see it bi-weekly on ESPN. It is said that US Citizens love violent action movies (silly if you watch the "Expendables" series) and would love to see blood on WWF.

If he is serious, the other party would hire someone like this guy to terminate his misery. :woohoo

Best we could hope for is a dual, there would be a real possibility they would both kill each other. MSNBC would carry it to boost ratings.
After the event there would be a discussion about gun violence featuring Bloomberg and his Bovines.

GRANITEVILLE — Former borough president candidate Richard Luthmann was arrested early Saturday for allegedly driving drunk, according to court records.
Luthmann, 33, a lawyer, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his car into a guardrail in Graniteville.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
