People with opinions such as that need to be ignored. Completely and totally. Simply let them and those that dance to their tune know that don't agree, don't consider their opinion valid and could care less what they think or want and that you will continue to behave and conduct yourself as you see fit. Displaying the icons and flags that you are inclined to display. I know that effectively shunning people is not a method to reach accommodation, but there is no compromise short a a capitulation to these types of people that will satisfy them.

I have no interest in their thoughts, opinions or views. They can drivel on all they'd like, but I don't care one whit about their issue. I will continue on as I see fit. IMO, that's the only way to go on today.

As PawPaw states so appropriately, I'm at the end of my ability to state my piece and respect the rules of this forum and our host.

Regards,

Jeff B.

Rick Perlstein was somewhere around 6 years old when the Vietnam War ended. If I were a betting man I would give three to one odds that before writing that opinion piece, he did not even talk to a Vietnam Veteran or research anything that did not agree with his opinion.

It says a lot about Newsweek that they printed that piece of garbage. Like another poster said, Newsweek will probably not be around much longer.

I never served, which means I owe debts I can't repay.

To suggest Jane Fonda's tourguides were kindhearted and gentle hosts to their prisoners, our best citizens, is... I don't know how to say it. Profanity fails me, which is probably a good thing.

Ditto, in all regards.

Screwball writers like the toad at that rag want to stir the pot.

Don't give them the satisfaction of noticing the drivel they spew.

The best thing we can do (as somehow previously suggested) is ignore them.

(notice: no mention of rag or writer name)

I don't know, get involved with a group that helps veterans, if there is a V.A. hospital close let the staff know you would like to help out like if they have a vet that needs a ride to the hospital from time to time.

When I lived in Porter Texas there was a WWII vet that lived in a little shack and rode a bicycle everywhere he went. He finally came to the attention of someone that wanted to help. The guy started asking around and it ended up with a whole bunch of people building a small house for him with materials donated by Lowes and Home Depot. He was even given an older model car that had been abandoned at a local garage. He was thrilled to have a place that was warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

There are ways to help those that served.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

I didn't read the article, but I now have an inexplicable need to fly a POW/MIA flag from my motorcycle. And I'm not even American (yet).....
