Sloppy holstering
I was pumping gas this a.m. when a truck pulled up between me and the store, the guy got out and proceeded to holster his firearm. The problem was he walked the entire length of the truck went behind it gun in hand finally got it holstered just as he opened the door to enter the store. Just before he went in the store he must have felt my eyes on him because he turned and looked at me. Nothing about his body language made me go on full alert but, this store has cameras everywhere I could only imagine if the clerk had spied this guy he probably would have freaked out. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking or not thinking in this case.

Hes probably the type of guy that tells everyone he speaks to that he carries. He was probably trying to show everyone there he had a gun.

There's just no excuse for having a gun in your hand in public, short of an emergency. If you can't drive with it on, then have the common decency to reholster it before you get out. Especially at a gas station - the way theyre getting held up lately, someone is liable to shoot first and ask questions later.

Everyone has to put their handgun in its holster, but it's like going to the restroom, you don't it in public.

Good points everyone. From Swoops original post: Absolutely! Situational awareness, seeing what you saw, would certainly put ME on red alert! And good follow up thinking in formulating a plan. 
To Javier: Couldn't agree more. A show off that can't keep quiet OR keep his gun concealed. It was not carelessness, it was overt, deliberate act of showing off his gun.

To Charles: Absolutely! And one doesn't go walking up to the front door WHILE trying to holster the gun.
Now, for the test. How many statutes(laws) did this idiot violate? Failure to conceal? Displaying a weapon in such a way as to cause alarm? That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Are there any more?

Joe, I didn't go on "Red Alert" based on my observation, guy just didn't seem a threat I could see the holster and him struggling to get his firearm in it, might add it looked like a pretty flimsy holster. I do agree this has to be a bad habit he's picked up or just doesn't care.
