Whataburger refused service to police officers

Any business serving the public food would be wise to nip this in the bud and start letting their employees know that anyone refusing to serve a police officer - or anyone else in uniform - will be terminated immediately.

I used to go to a local Wendy's at least once a week (don't judge me, I love their baked potatoes.). One day a couple of employees brought their new puppy into the restaurant and put him up on the counter so the other employees could play with him. While they were serving food. After speaking with the DM, it turns out she never specifically told employees that they couldn't put a dog on the counter and if she fired them for it, they'd have a legitimate unemployment claim.

That's right out of a Seinfeld episode.....

Well, not the same actions but illustrating the same principle. Won't be as funny without knowing the characters, but:

Not serving the LEO was a renegade employee who will likely be fired. It was not a corporate policy.

Last night at the Whataburger in Lewisville two police officers were told we do not serve police officers.

They do this as a public service to help the police. What he really meant was "if you order now, you'll be retired from the force by the time your food is ready."

In a statement from Whataburger just in the news, they state they employee has been fired. They have invited the two officers to meet with them to discuss it and make it right.

The employee seems to be fired and the law enforcement officers are entitled for a complimantary meal. Not really a win/win situation but at least the blood thirsty media is satisfied for now. It wasn't a real big deal anyway because it was not a real story maker topic anyway.

Could the highly educated employees confused a spare like me openly carrying with a LEO openly carrying and thought that corporate policy was against all who would OC in their fine establishment? I don't see how that could happen, but who knows?
