Apparently, not all Whataburgers are created equal? The last Whataburger that I forced down was a whole lot short of sensational. Based on y'all's favorable comments, we will try another when we get home to Texas next month.
Re: Whataburger refused service to police officers
They might not be. I cannot choke down McDonald's hamburger, but do like their McMuffins and "Steak" bagel. The McMuffins are the same at everyone I've tried, but those steak bagels can vary widely. Some stores like to butter them well and the meat can be quite greasy, while in others the bagel and meat are much dryer. They are still okay, but very different.Oldgringo wrote:Apparently, not all Whataburgers are created equal? The last Whataburger that I forced down was a whole lot short of sensational. I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Not everyone has the highly sophisticated pallettes as some of you fine dining aficionados. For us regular guys, Whataburger serves decent food fast at a fair price. Diet food it is not but that is obvious before crossing the threshold of their door. If its not for you, so be it. I guess the low bred west Texan in me just doesn't know any better.

It's hard to beat a good, spicy Popeyes. I think the kitchen staff may have a lot to do with it; e.g., the one in Vicksburg is YUMMO, the one in Tyler not so much. We read where Popeyes is coming to Kalispell. Can you imagine spicy fried chicken cooked by a bunch of Norwegian Lutherans near the Canadian border?dlh wrote:We need a controversy at a Popeye's Fried Chicken...That will get us started gastro-wise!![]()

Glad you do. Just pointing out to the fast food snobs no place is without it's detractors. Fast food is called that for a reason. Just because Whataburger is better than MacDonalds doesn't mean it's the best. There are many better alternatives to Whataburger if one wants a really good burger. Can't imagine asking any family where do you want to go for a burger and the first place they would think of is Whataburger. I may just a bit biased since I suffered food poisoning from what of thier burgers many moons ago. As far as fast food burgers go I think Braums beats them hands down.

Like I said, it's a matter of opinion. Just because you can imagine it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.Right2Carry wrote:mojo84 wrote:Glad you do. I've never had In and Out food. It may be the greatest in the world and qualify as fine dining gourmet food served fast and cheap. However, I suspect many many more Texans have had Whataburger and not In and Out. If that's the case is should be easy for one to imagine Whataburger could be someone's favorite. Much f the appeal to fast food is convenience. I can assure you, Whataburger is much more convenient to more Texans than In and Out.
It's the elitist I know what's best and no other opinions are worthy or exist is obnoxious at best. Why do so many feel the need to convert everyone to their preference and choice. Just because one likes In and Out doesn't mean Whataburger is bad.

Re: Whataburger refused service to police officers
I said nothing about in and out. I am a native Texan and never considered Whataburger as the best burger. I am sorry but no fast food joint has the best burgers and that is just the simple truth.mojo84 wrote:Like I said, it's a matter of opinion. My last post on this now silly thread.
I didn't say you said anything about In and Out. Another poster did though. I also didn't say Whataburger makes the best burger of all burgers. The ones I cook at home are. ;) I will say Whataburger is much more convenient when I'm in town and away from home.
My point is more in response to the elitist attitudes of what I like is best is the best and no one else knows what they are talking about it's ridiculous when it comes to a matter if taste.
I'm sure some can argue that also so I'll key you all have at it.

All hamburgers are equal, except some are more equal than others...
