Carry Vest
What would you folks recommend for a light weight vest that would be pretty long and have some decent pockets on it to carry while I'm out riding my motorcycle? I found one the other day that was made by ranger joe or something in a surplus shop, but they didn't have anything in my size.
Thanks
Thanks
If you want to go really "tactical" then the Royal Robins 5.11 vest is the only way to go. It is made out of a fairly heavy fabric and has all the pockets you would ever need, yet doesn't make you all that much hotter.
I love mine - I don't have to carry a diaper bag for my 4 month old when I wear it. For some reason, people who see diapers sticking out of the pockets don't think CCW cover garment... And it does work when I ride my motorcycle. Got mine for about $50 from an online vendor.

Hay Photoman. You just made the 10,000th post on TexasCHLforum! Not bad for 11 months and one day.

well over 400 by the 1st anniversary. 411 now & still time to go. It has been great to watch this grow. Wish I had found it sooner & could have been one of the1st instead of 239.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I'm glad we met, and that you pointed me to this forum. Looks like it has great potential.
I will be certain to recommend to my shooting friends.
I have one and like it. Looks much less tactical with diapers and wipes sticking out of the pockets...couzin wrote:Tried the 5.11 tactical vest - it hung way too much low and kinda flopped around on me unless zipped. It also said 'shoot me first.' Finally sold it on eBay. I guess it works for some...
I don't know... that drool could be slippery and I might hit you with that semi soft gel filled ring! Bet you wouldn't like getting that all over your face.couzin wrote:A little too old for that - I would have to borrow a kid...Kalrog wrote:I have one and like it. Be careful you don't draw down on someone with a teething ring...
honestly, I keep everything in specific places so that doesn't happen. Nothing goes ON the belt but the SD stuff. Everything else goes in pockets.
I have the 5.11 vest and feel it is very well made, but too heavy for casual wear. I keep mine fully stocked (minus firearm) in the closet for those late nite runs to the "stop-n-rob" or if needed as a last minute emergency. It's a great wearable bug out bag.
I'm still looking for a lightweight vest.
