Any Certified Process Servers?

Post by joelamosobadiah »

Hello all, I know we have a lot of individuals with legal background and/or work, so I thought I would ask for some advice and insight.

I am an independent oil and gas landman. With the direction that industry has taken lately, I am looking for some work to supplement my income and am considering becoming a certified process server. I have been interested in this for quite a while and I think now is the time to take the plunge and finally become certified.

If anybody has background in this area, I have a few questions:
1. Anything specific I need to be aware of for the certification process? After the class how long of a process is it to complete certification?
2. Do you have any tips for getting started with gaining clients, etc.?

Any other general information you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. I have one acquaintance who is a certified process server, but other than that am going into the process blind.

Another reason I asked on this forum is there seems to be a large overlap between process servers and CHL holders.

My friend did not carry. However, some of his compadres carried openly long before OC. I think it depends on the State rules if they have some
