Well, as promised, Mrs. Oldgringo and I just had a Whataburger No. 1. It wasn't half bad and a whole lot better than a McDonald's.

Whatever happened to the "flame-kissed" burgers Burger King used to make? Those were delicious. This was back in the late sixties/early seventies. The current ones are not nearly as good.

You reckon your tastes in burgers, etc. may have changed in the last 40-50 years...just a little bit?

When I lived in California, there were In and Outs and no Whataburgers. I worked briefly in Scottsdale, where there was a Whataburger, and I noticed that whenever I drive down Hayden, my Volvo would develope a steering problem and turn into the Whataburger parking lot whether I was going there or not.

The investment company I ran for 23 years owned several properties leased to fast food restaurants, and I will say Whataburger was far and away the best to work with, very straight forward, responsible.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
