Primary Arms 5x Prism ACSS

Post by Scott B. »

Wanted an optic with some magnification for one of my ARs. Is your first AR always your favorite? Anyway, I looked at a bunch of 1-4x options and thought long and hard about the new Vortex 1-6x (still very tempting).

Ran across Primary Arms selling some 'blemished' 5x Prism ACSS sights for a nice price on ebay. They've still got a couple, Info page: http://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms ... /pac5x.htm

Figured it wasn't too bad a gamble and pulled the trigger. USPS Priority Mail had it to me the next day.

Supposedly, the blemish is a dust spec somewhere in the glass. My eyes aren't the greatest, but I've yet to find it.

Pros. Build quality. Red or green illumination of the horseshoe and primary dot. Capped turret covers. Cost. Comes with a basic pic rail mount and will fit any standard ACOG mount. PA seems to have great customer service.

Cons. Made in China. Cost. Took off my backup sights to get a better eye picture. Might switch back if I get a different mount for it.

Will try to get to the range today or tomorrow and sight it in.

I have this scope for dual purpose CQB/Medium-Long Range

https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arm ... ps1-6x.htm

It has an etched recticle, so battery life/type is not as important.

At 1X you can use the CQB Reticle or a 6X you can use the ACSS BCD/Ranging features.(It's 2nd focal plane) $269 :hurry:

or you can get the 1x8 ACSS 1st focal plane for $1299
