Lipstick sized stun gun classified as firearm in UK

Post by Syntyr »

Wow
British women are carrying stun guns disguised as lipstick in a bid to stay safe.
The 3million-volt weapons, which can be bought online for as little as £14.50, are designed to be kept in a pocket or handbag during nights out and when at home.
Their presence has forced police to issue a reminder that stun guns are classed as firearms.
So carrying a small lipstick sized stun gun, not a TASER mind you, can see you put in prison for 5 years in the UK.
The comments are utterly disheartning:

I don't want the right to carry firearms in this country; UK. It's a simmer ready to bubble and boil when everyone around you is carrying. If you feel the need to carry an item that will kill someone dead (not just scare them) then something is wrong with you.

I don't want to HAVE to carry a stun gun for self defence. I want the police to continue arresting anyone they find carrying a weapon. If people can openly carry weapons for their own defence then how do you stop people that are clearly carrying them with other purposes in mind? You can't.

What? No. Just no. We aren't slaves because we have the intelligence to make carrying weapons illegal. Making carrying weapons illegal IS self defence in itself. We are stopping muggers and the like having easy access to weaponry. Unlike the US where you're considerably more likely to be mugged at gun point.

£14.50?

How much is that in real money?

(Yes, yes, I'm demonstrating a teensy amount of jingoism)

The mentality expressed in the comments is exactly the mentality the left is trying to cultivate here.

I just read through the comments. Overall they are pretty dissatisfied with the current approach outlawing self defense in the UK. A lot of them talk about what kind of improvised weapons someone could carry legally. I found them encouraging.
