Went To Amarillo, paid off my Jeep, spent more money, brought home a ...

Post by G.A. Heath »

Went To Amarillo, paid off my Jeep, spent more money, brought home a 3rd Series Colt Woodsman (1977 vintage).

I went to Amarillo for two reasons, I wanted to pay off my Jeep in person and I wanted to do a little driving. The Jeep is payed for now, and I decided to drop in on a good friend. So I google the address for Long Hunters and pay a visit to my buddy Jared Baker, who is a great guy. On my way from Long Hunters back to I27 I spy a smallish gun store called Panhandle Gun Slingers. I was about to drive past but my spider sense went off and I stopped. I was about to leave when I spotted a 3rd Series Colt Woodsman in the case and asked to see it. Upon looking it over I decided it was little used to unused, finish was extremely nice, best of all it was a Target Match with a 4.5 inch barrel (This makes it one of the guns on my wish list). I was in a hurry so I didn't even try to negotiate, but the price was good anyway, so It came home with me. The only down side is no box or papers, but that's not really an issue for me.

Nice!

Reminds me of the Colt Challenger I inherited from my grandpa. However, it has plastic handles and your handgun looks much nicer.

I am envious. Also, I see lot's of 22 available every time I go to Academy and even Walmart. Of course who knows how long before the next run on ammo.

I've come to the conclusion that I am just a device invited by money to transport itself from person to person.

I got a good deal on the gun, but more importantly I no longer have a Jeep Payment. I am debating shooting this one, I am very certain it is unfired so I am looking at it in much closer detail to determine if that is true. If it is truly unfired I am curious as to where the box and papers went.

I hear you on that, it would explain a lot about my situation.
