I almost lost my magazine

Post by HKsig »

I was getting ready to go to the range today when I noticed I'm missing my extra Sig P250c magazine. Thinking back I realized I left it at the range the last time I was there. Once there I asked the ROs if someone turned in the magazine and sure enough they have it. Whew! I thought that was $40 out the window.

I had faith that the shooters are good honest folks and they are. Kudos to A Place To Shoot and the shooters that go there. :txflag:

I used to go to A Place To Shoot until I was tapped on the shoulder by the range officer, while firing my pistol and told, "You cant shoot that here." Now I go to Black Hawk.

What kind of pistol was it?

I personally don't care for A Place To Shoot anymore. Too often did I encounter rude associates treating me like some idiot off the street. After enough service like that, I move on. :tiphat:

I've heard it said you couldn't shoot one there before, but do mind if I ask what their explanation was for telling you no?

I imagine it's why a lot of ranges won't let it on the line - round is too fast for the backstop.

That's funny, they didn't mind a .223WSSM pushing over 4,000fps. Nor 357sig or 10mm pushing 1500fps. a 2000fps 5.7 doesn't equate to something damaging when you're shooting into a dirt backdrop. :totap:

That was the reason. They have those slanted metal backstops on the pistol range. They said it would punch through. I figure maybe the SS198 could.

Last time I shot pistols there, we were shooting into a dirt backdrop. If you have trouble finding a place in S.A. to shoot your 5.7, PM and you can shoot to your hearts content with me on private land. (I.E. You wallets ability.)

I've got some property I can shoot on but going to a range is closer. I want to get into archery. I got 41 acres here in San Antonio I could practice all day long. That being said, Ill take you up on your offer. Would be nice to meet someone from this forum for something other than a firearm purchase.

Agreed. Nothing like a little healthy competition anyway. ;-)
