Medal of Honor Recipient Gen. Joe Foss

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

This is an old video worth viewing. I met Joe when I was elected to the NRA Board of Directors in 2001. He was a great man and he told the story of being shot down over water in much greater detail than on this video. It showed his tremendous faith in Christ. As the son of a WWII combat veteran, this video reminds me of my Dad and an America long lost. The Country still exists, but as a people, a culture, a "city on a hill," we have lost so much.

Chas;
Thank you for posting, for Honoring this man and his service.
While I realise your point is valid "The Country still exists, but as a people, a culture, a "city on a hill," we have lost so much."
And I admit perhaps Im doing the head in the sand deal...
I have served with so many Honorable military members, seen the hardship the families go through, the tough times they persevered .... I refuse to admit defeat, to see the glass as half full. In my short 50 years I can see the decline you have observed, but want to believe it is not a lost cause, or as bad as some fear.
