Interesting day at the range

Post by HKsig »

I went to shoot my HK USP 9mm and my Sig P250c 40sw today. I started with the 9mm and while I was shooting a young black couple took a stall next to me with a rental gun, a Ruger Mark ? bull barrel 22. I heard the RO showing them on how to use it as it was their first time.

I decided to take a break and walked back to a bench and smoke a cig. I wanted to observe how they handled the gun. They did well gun safety wise but having trouble shooting it after a few rounds. When I walked back she asked for help. I said sure and looked over the Ruger. The rounds were sticking in the mag and when chambered won't fire. No firing pin mark either.

I told her to take it back and get another one but they decided to call it quits. I walked back to the bench to sit down. She walked over to me and asked about my guns. I told what I'm shooting now is a Sig P250 40 cal. I finished shooting my 9mm and patted my concealed 9mm. She gasped and said you carry a gun ?? I said well yeah, I have license to carry.

She then asked if it's a Sig like the 40 and I said no it's an HK and showed to her. She gasped and said oooh pretty. LOL.

Her boyfriend was standing behind her the whole time and shaking his head and rolling his eyes. She asked how long I've been shooting and I said since the 80s and yes I had plenty of practice.

She seemed really sweet and genuinely interested in what I said. That's ok I like talking to cute girls. :D

It was a pretty good day for me. :)

By the way, the flyers was at the end of each 50 round sessions, it gets tiring.

I try to help out newbies when i see them, if they want it. And I enjoy allowing people to shoot my pistols if they ask, because that is a great way to try new guns.
I have found most people are very nice if you talk to them. Every once in awhile I run into Joe Range Champion, hahah

They seem fascinated by it all. They're well mannered and nice that I get the feeling they're from a church group. They probably came on a whim and try a pistol.
