Walther PPQ in .45

Post by jb2012 »

Does anyone have a respectable amount of rounds shot through their PPQ .45? I'm considering buying one or one of the XD series in .45. Just curious what everyone's opinion is. I already have a glock 21 and a 1911 in .45 so looking for something a little more concealable, and I refuse to carry anything besides.45

Haven't seen a bad report yet. Go over to waltherforums and check out all the reviews.

By all accounts, the Walthers that come out of Ulm, the P99, PPS, PPQ, PPX (which is discontinued) are top notch. The other models (P22, PK380, & CCP) have had some growing pains to become reliable. My P99 and PPS have been flawless from the first round. I have a first generation P22 that once it came back from getting fixed has also been flawless.

I've only held a PPQ and a CCP but the grips are fantastic. They feel like the grip was made just for you fantastic. It's like a puppy, once you hold it, you will want to take it home. A PPQ M1.40 and P99c .40 are both on my wish list along with a German made PPK. I'm weird I guess cause I have a fascination with Walther pistols.

From all the reviews I've read, you will not be disappointed.

In the December issue of "Guns and Ammo" there's a lengthy and very informative article about this pistol.

I have put 250 rounds through my PPQ 45. I also have the PPQ 9 which has probably 700 through it. I like the 45 best. In my opinion the 45 shoots softer with very little muzzle flip than the 9. Of all my modest collection of 45's, this is the best so far. It is very accurate-more than the 9 also. Today I just put the Sig P320 45 on order with my local gun shop. I also own the P320 9mm. I really like the new Sig striker fired pistols. I can't wait to compare the 2 new 45s. But back to the Walther, it is a superb pistol with excellent quality and you will not be disappointed.
