Glock Trigger Replacement

Howdy!

I recently picked up my first Glock, and I have been very pleased with it. However, the serrated safe-action trigger on the Glock 19 gets uncomfortable after extended shooting. I am interested in replacing the trigger with either a Glock factory part or an aftermarket trigger.

This gun is my carry gun, so I don't want to change the trigger weight, travel, reset, etc. I only want to change the physical trigger itself.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a more comfortable trigger?

Same here. All of mine get switched out on compacts and subcompacts.

You can order them from multiple places, I get all of mine from Lone Wolf Distributers in Idaho.

That's one option I was considering. Does the little safe-action tab still stick out from the trigger when it's depressed?

Yes it still sticks up on the smooth face version.

I just put a Zev drop in for mine (I know you don't want to change anything but the trigger). I know Ayoob and others say not to modify a carry gun but I have not run across Texas case law where this became a problem, maybe someone here could chime in if they know of any.

BTW Michele Byington (firearms program attorney with [Pre-paid legal service]) published an article in the March/April TSRA magazine discussing the topic of modifying self defense firearms.

Back when I could buy Winchester White box for $4.64 a box of 50 at Walmart, I would shoot a minimum of 300 and as much as 500 rounds per outing without suffering what you describe, but then my hands/fingers are fairly calloused...

Consider buying some thin, shooting gloves.

I took some sandpaper and sanded the sharp edges rounding them off.

It's not such a big deal that it really affects anything. It's more of a simple inconvenience, and I just prefer smooth faced triggers.

Gloves are a good idea though!

I have access to case law databases through my school and have done some research on the subject as well. While I haven't found any criminal cases regarding legally modified triggers as a primary issue of self defense, I have often seen trigger weight as a significant factor in questions of accidental (negligent) discharges. I'm not concerned with being found criminally liable in an intentional shooting, but I am concerned with accidentally firing a round under stress due to a light trigger. There are lots of cases of accidental police shootings that happen that way.

I don't think it's a terrible thing to have a trigger job though. I would just prefer to err on the side of caution.

Thanks for the input, I try to maintain good trigger discipline so that is a non issue. Sorry for getting this thread off topic.
