Those are the apparently the odds in most cases, but is there something particular about this case? The timeline and alibi aren't clear from the article but apparently not so off as to directly implicate the husband. Another home in the neighborhood was broken into to which would seem to mitigate suspicion of the husband --but then a devious husband intent on murdering his wife could also have exploited such an event. I'd think if the husband did it he would have made sure she was dead before calling the police and not risked her being revived in the hospital. That would be a pretty big risk to take if you just tried to kill your wife and unless you're a stone cold psycho I'd think the police would be alerted and suspicious.

From the news reports seems burglars/intruders are now armed with firearms and ready to shoot upon entering. Gone are the "Boston Strangler" days where the perp. entered with a jimmy and a stocking to strangle his victim(s).

Homeowners better "gun up" these days and be prepared.

One of the TV news reports suggested that the pastor was exercising with his regular group of gym rats per his normal routine. Apparently, the fellow exercisers alibi for the pastor was enough to get the Indy police in a "no family are suspects" mood.

The couple's story was storybook worthy - here's hoping they catch the scum who did this, and he resists arrest with a BB gun in hand.

Pastor is not a suspect. There was another home burglary just a few houses away just prior to this. Police we responding to the other burglary when this occurred, so just missed the person.
