I would have guessed that it would taken 6 or 7 shots to break through

A BB will almost go through a windshield. They usually leave a small hole and a circular chip.
So I'm not surprised that a 22 penetrates regular auto safety glass, especially from a rifle.

I expected a windshield to be kinda like a hog's forehead -- it depends on the angle.

44 mag at 2:14 Hit in the right place a cast iron block isn't all that hard to penetrate. That said, in a lot of these videos they conflate the head with the block.
