Texas law makes no "concealed" distinction for long guns.

You have posted questions about what address to put on your CHL application, where you can carry and now this.

I suspect you are trolling. How old are you?

If so, why is it called Concealed HANDGUN License rather than Concealed FIREARM License?

You can carry loaded rifles and shotguns in your car/truck/rv/horse/mule whatever in plain view. Texas law allows you to walk down main street with a loaded rifle or shotgun, but it would attract attention. I wish the thievery issue was not qas bad as it is or else I would go back to carrying a loaded shotgun and now add one of my Ruger mini 14's to the equation. Keeping the long guns concealed is a non-issue. If you do bring'em along for the ride, make sure they are out of site. I would certainly make sure not to use a Bushmaster AR or another high value long gun for the car. Maybe a scratched up Mossberg loaded with 00 buckshot.

I hope this helps, Stupid.

You really need to change your screen name. If you are inexperienced and really want to learn, how about rookie, newbie, cub, puppy, cadet (are you an Aggie?), or some other way of inferring your lack of experience and desire to learn.

Names on-line are first impressions. They last forever.

It's called a Concealed HANDGUN License because no license is required to carry a long arm, loaded or not, concealed or not. But it's illegal to carry a handgun, loaded or not, concealed or not, on or about your person unless you have a CHL (or are a law enforcement officer, or are traveling, including the new vehicle definition).
